Craig was my personal trainer for 5 years and I can honestly say that working with him changed the course of my life.
I had always wanted to be a runner, however, when I first met Craig I was an unfit, 57 year old woman who had rarely engaged in exercise or sport. Other PTs might not have wanted to take on the challenge but Craig did not appear to be fazed.
Over a period of 6 months or so, using a series of progressively more challenging workouts, we built my fitness up to a level where I could start to run. From then on I never looked back. I quickly progressed from 5K parkruns to 10K events. The gym work continued alongside my newfound love of running and enabled me, in the years that followed, to compete successfully at Master’s level in many distances including winning my age group in the iconic Comrades ultramarathon in South Africa and running for my country in the UK Masters Marathon Championships.
During this time, I also completed over 160 marathons including the Six World Majors and numerous multi-day endurance events. Craig’s excellent knowledge of physiology and exercise science helped keep my body strong and injury free.
Throughout our time working together I always found Craig to be supportive and reliable and sessions to be varied and fun. He led by example by keeping his own fitness levels high and demonstrated perseverance and commitment to his sport.
I learnt a lot from Craig but one of his phrases in particular often comes to my mind towards the end of a long race, “Last set, best set”- when I think I have no more to give I can usually find something extra.
Craig helped me to become a runner. Whatever your fitness goals and dreams I’m certain that working with Craig will make it more likely that you will achieve them.

When I first got back to the gym after having my second baby I realised I needed some help to get my fitness back. I had chronic back and neck pain and the things I took for granted, like having core and glute strength, before I had children suddenly really mattered – not that I knew that these were my problem areas before I started training with Craig.
Before working with Craig I had not done any strength or conditioning exercises and the heaviest weight I picked up was my son who was 4kg at the time. I think my biggest deterrent was that I felt out of my depth in the weights area at the gym. With Craig’s guidance and expertise, I now feel empowered with knowledge about my own body and the types of exercises I need to do to prevent further injury and achieve my training goals. I think that’s exactly what you get when you train with Craig – a tailored program suited only for you.
Craig doesn’t discriminate between old and young, male or female, and throughout my time working with him, he never set me apart because I am a mum. Rather, he carefully designed sessions that are challenging and that progressively brought out my potential. I know that I would never have achieved the level of fitness and wellness I have to date if not for the personal attention given in my training sessions.
My friends always comment how Craig makes me do “some crazy things” and I agree. Sometimes I myself can’t believe I can do those things too!
The best part of being on Craig’s team is that I completely trust his judgement when it comes to my training. The sessions are always varied and new and I am always surprised with how much I look forward to the next one – even though the last one hurt so much.
I would recommend Craig in a heartbeat having also met and trained with other PTs. The professionalism and passion for what he does is second to none. Thanks to his help my core and glute strength has improved considerably, my upper body is stronger than it has ever been and, as a bonus, I have new found a love for sprinting.
